Experience:


University:
QUB – Civil Engineering: Many group projects were given throughout the course, with short deadlines, requiring good communication skills to achieve the best results and grades. Final year project – Neural Network modelling of shape memory alloys: involved massive amounts of research to understand a new idea. Organisation of time was essential to complete the tasks required before write up could begin.
QUB – Engineering Computation: Simple animation project was required for the Graphics module within the Engineering Computation course.
Paisley University – Multimedia Communication: Worked on several individual and group projects, all with tight schedules, covering a wide range of topics: computer animation, flash and actionscript, educational technologies, networked multimedia and web site programming.

Freelance:
Flash website including 3D elements.
NITC (Northern Ireland Technology Centre) – image mapping project, with sharp deadline.
Advertisements for QUB Tai Jutsu – including posters, fliers and website.

Employment:
Hyder Consulting:
–Security enchancements at key economic installations, required creation of CAD drawings for use by civil contractor and supervision of the subsequent site work.
–Detailed Zonal Study of Fermanagh, required placing meters to record water pressure and flow, downloading the collected data and adding to the database for analysis. Heavy use of MapInfo and SQL queries. Involved working closely with the client, Northern Ireland Water Ltd.
–NIW Reservoir security. The project involved, collating information about reservoir sizes and calculating required lengths of ducting required for the security system. Required collaboration with the client Northern Ireland Water Ltd. and the security installation contractor.

McAdam Design:
–Primary engineer for the Carrenhill Water Treatment Works. This involved analysing and completing calculations for preliminary Architect designs then creating updated CAD drawings, requiring close co–ordination with Senior Engineers, Architects, CAD technicians and Contractors.
–Detailed Zonal Study of Banbridge, required placing meters to record water flow, downloading collected data and adding to the database for analysis. Involved working closely with the client, Water Service.
